EL CISNE

El Cisne es un santuario mariano ubicado cerca de Loja, Ecuador. Es conocido por albergar la Virgen de El Cisne, una figura religiosa venerada. El santuario atrae a peregrinos de todo el país, especialmente durante la tradicional romería que tiene lugar en agosto, donde la imagen de la Virgen es llevada en procesión. El entorno natural que rodea El Cisne es pintoresco, con montañas y bosques que lo convierten en un lugar de gran belleza. Además de su importancia religiosa, El Cisne ofrece a los visitantes una experiencia tranquila y espiritual en un entorno encantador.

  

Every year around 20,000 pilgrims attend the pilgrimage of the Virgen del Cisne that takes place from August 15 to August 20. In the journey of a walk that carries the image of the Virgin from her sanctuary to Loja, the pilgrimage covers about 75 kilometers in three days.

On August 17, the procession starts from El Cisne (where her sanctuary is located). The Virgen del Cisne arrives at the parish of San Pedro de la Bendita on the same day. Then, on August 18, the Virgin of the Swan departs for Catamayo, where she remains until August 19 and continues her journey on August 20 towards the city of Loja, the capital of the homonymous province, where she is received by the citizens of Loja, who will have custody of her until her return to the sanctuary on November 1.
